TITLE: Studio Assistant

REPORTS TO: Farm Manager

Objective:

An energetic and hardworking individual who aids in us with day-to day tasks -usually inside our barn design studio. This is a seasonal role in nature, during our busiest times. Expected to be available for 10-14 hours a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays only; in April, May, June; and then again in September, October and possibly November.

Previous experience in a fast paced, results driven, physically challenging environment, and an ability to balance the love of flowers with keeping the farm’s success in mind at all times is highly desirable.


Common Tasks:

-Assisting with order management, building/ fulfilling plant orders, shipping as required

-Nearby deliveries as necessary (CSA, local drops) especially during holidays

​-worKS weekly retail space assistance/stocking/watering as needed​

-Light design/bouquet making support as needed during busy times

-Helping manage inventory of containers/vessels/barn studio items

-Coordinating/Managing pick-up of bulk DIY and wholesale orders at studio as needed

- Assisting with on-site floral design workshops, including set-up and clean-up

- Processing flowers for storage, orders, bouquets, designs

- Washing buckets and vases weekly and restocking shelves

- Sweeping and tidying, including sanitizing scissors and work surfaces

- Assisting with cleaning flower cooler and rotating buckets according to harvest date

- Tackling other tasks as assigned, outdoor field assistance may be required in a pinch - but this is not a field position

Requirements:

- Must be able and willing to lift 40+ lbs. repeatedly

- Must be able and willing to hustle and on your feet most of the workday

- Must be able and willing to work in all types of weather conditions, including rain, high heat, cold temps, humidity

- Must have access to reliable transportation (farm is not accessible by public transportation)

- Must possess effective and positive communication skills and be a fast learner & open to direction

- Must be goal-oriented & self-motivated in order to work independently on a regular basis

-The ideal candidate is highly organized and with attention to detail, we always have 10 irons in the fire here

-Must be willing to sign a farming non-compete agreement for a 2 year timeframe

This position reports in person, to the farm in Lincoln University (19352 zip)

Compensation starts at $15/hr. With bonuses/perks (flowers, plants etc) from time to time
